Ribéry laid low

FCB start preparations for Fürth clash

15.01.2013

Bayern open the second half of their Bundesliga campaign at home to Greuther Fürth on Saturday. The stars enjoyed a final day off on Monday, before reporting back to the Säbener Strasse on Tuesday for a full training session. Jupp Heynckes supervised his men in passing and positioning exercises, before the workout ended with circuit training designed to add the last few percentage points of fitness and freshness.

The absentees on the day were Holger Badstuber (cruciate ligament) and Franck Ribéry, who has been laid low by a cold. Ribéry reported instead to the performance centre for an individual indoor fitness session. Coach Heynckes is hoping the winger can resume the squad programme on Wednesday, and said that his superstar wide player is not rated doubtful for the Fürth clash.

From Thursday onwards, Heynckes will oversee final preparations for the restart fixture in closed training sessions, but the schedule shows a final public workout on Wednesday at 10 am in the morning.
